You're Invited: I'll be Signing Un-Nappily In LOVE November 6th, 2010

Book Lovers

Next weekend is an exciting time for African American fiction. "For Colored Girls" (the film adaptation of Ntozake Shange's classic work) hits the big screen on Friday, November 5th. And the Second Annual Book Lovers & Book Clubs Conference will be held on Saturday, November 6th.

Kansas City is one of 10 cities in the nation to host an advanced screening of this film which is earning Oscar buzz. To enter for a chance for you and a guest to attend the VIP screening on Wednesday, November 3rd, send an e-mail: with "For Colored Girls" in the subject line and your first and last name in the body of the e-mail to bookloversbookclubs@gmail.com. The first 20 persons to send an e-mail will win the chance to bring a guest to attend the "For Colored Girls" VIP Screening.

Also there's still time to register for the Book Lovers & Book Clubs Conference. It will be held on Saturday, November 6th at the Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library at 14 W. 10th Street in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

The conference is free but RSVP is required. Attendees also have the option of purchasing lunch, which includes membership to the Friends of the Library, for $25. To attend the conference, reserve your space.
Sincerely,

Kim Riley
